So I decided that the current model and direction of the site wasnt what I really intended so as of now its currently being ‘rebuilt’ and revamped to something a bit different. Its not going to be what I had originally planned but something new and a bit more fresh. More informative, more content, more everything. It will take some time but I will still be updating the site every so often.
Just for shits and giggles, for those who actually view my site (not many of you but some) what would you like to see? I’d like to get some input and maybe implement your suggestions. Thanks all
Ever walked around and noticed a twinge of pain in and around your heel area? Does it feel like you’re stepping on a needle pin side up? Does it hurt when you are standing barefoot on a hard surface? If so you may have this fairly common ‘injury’ known as Plantar Fasciitis. What this is is basically tightening of the fibrous band around the heel area called the plantar fascia. What the pain is the constricting and the stretching of the tendon when pressure is applied. Some notice it more during the morning as people who have this tend to sleep with their feet pointed. While the foot is pointed it relaxes and constricts to that shortened length then when you get out of bed and start taking steps the soreness is prevalent.
This has been bugging me since Tough Mudder as the very next day I could barely walk. In fact, later on that day I felt as though I was a 95 year old man. I walked gingerly to and fro the car. Was painful! So what I have been trying to do lately is wear shoes with good arch support from the moment I wake up until the moment I lay down to sleep. At work I keep my foot flat on the ground and at times stretch it as if I were stretching my calf muscle. It helps at times but its not a ‘fixall’ if you will. In fact there really isnt much that can be done to ‘cure’ the problem only help ease some pain. I’m not particularly worried about it as its more discomfort than an injury.
So if you have experienced or are currently experiencing this pain what do you do to help mend the discomfort? Post in the comments and let me know!
Short post this time but its almost time. Tough Mudder is coming up FAST.. faster than I imagine and my mind is mentally prepared but my body and stamina need work. Of course my mind can only get me through some of the obstacles but ruthless aggression will allow me to conquer all. With Bobby playing catch-up to me its going to be an amazing adventure.
What I need to focus more on is running stamina. The more I run the better my chances of completing with a solid time. I have no goal necessarily other than finish. I wouldn’t mind a strong time but my main goal is finishing. Stay strong and don’t lose sight of your objectives
Tuesday the day I go under the knife. Its not a major surgery and the procedure takes less than an hour but I’ve never had surgery, never been under anesthesia and never even had blood drawn. Needless to say, even though its such a minor repair I am nervous!
I am expected to be in a sling for 4 weeks which is probably going to suck really bad as I have to depend on my left hand to do my work for me After 4 weeks in the sling I apparently have to do 3-4 months of physical therapy to regain the strength. From what I heard from people who have had this done is that your shoulder will feel even stronger than before any tears. This is very comforting and exciting at the same time.
This is what I will be training for once I am able to gym again.
After therapy I will begin a new regiment that will include plyometrics, high intensity interval training, and strength training. With this new workout I expect great results towards the end of the summer. I’m not buying new clothes until after my transformation. Even though I’m coming up to a year of working out I have seen pretty good results but not near where I want to be. Baby steps, mental prep and will power will push me there.
